Ishikawa Sayaka (石川サヤカ, Ishikawa Sayaka) is a main supporting character in the Metal Fight Beyblade anime series.

In her childhood, she always had a passion for Beyblading, along with doing gymnastics. She also met her childhood friend, Tsubasa Otori, who saved her from some sore loser from a junior Beyblading tournament who was about to harass her. She is also a very strong blader, being able to defeat Kyoya and Gingka, both who are very powerful bladers, and nearly defeating Ryuga.

In Metal Masters, she competed in the Beyblade World Championships with Team Amazon. Her teammates were Ringo, the leader, and her best friend Koharu.

In Metal Fury, she's on a quest with Gingka Hagane and the Legendary Bladers, in order to stop the ultimate evil, Nemesis, from controlling the world. Sayaka is a Legendary Blader of the Solar System, representing Earth.

She later worked for the WBBA as a secretary, and got married to Tsubasa Otori in Beyblade: Shogun Steel.

Physical Appearance

Sayaka is a somewhat short, slim girl with a pale complexion with long jet black hair worn in a high ponytail and light brown eyes. Her hair is kept up with a pink bow.

In Metal Fusion and Metal Masters, her hair is partially pulled back with a pink bow and wears a necklace with a pink orb and feather-like pieces. Her outfit consists of a turtleneck, sleeveless light blue dress with matching boots, dark blue shorts with white trim, white thigh-high socks and white cloth gauntlets with the same light blue fingerless gloves over them. In addition, she wears a brown belt with a dark blue pouch for her bey and vest and grey bracelets on her upper arms.

In Metal Fury, her usual outfit consists of a light blue tank top with a white, shoulder less t-shirt, a medium sky blue skirt, black shorts and white sneakers with pink and blue straps. She also has white fingerless gloves, a necklace with a wing-like pendant and 2 light brown belts.

In Zero-G, as an adult, her hair is shorter and she loses the pink bow in her hair. She wears a variety of outfits, but they usually consist of a full dress, a long-sleeve jacket and coloured flats. On some special occasions, she will wear white high heels.

Personality

Sayaka is usually known to be a very kind and caring person who never intends to hurt anyone. She is very passionate about blading and, much like Hagane, hopes to make friends through the sport. She is also quite forgiving; this is shown when she’s willing to make friends with even the saltiest of opponents. She could be considered popular among many female bladers, most of which look up to her. Despite her many positive traits, she is also known to be somewhat naive, childish and easy to anger which doesn’t end well for her.

Tsuki Ishikawa

Sayaka and Tsuki had a great relationship when they were children and always been good sisters. They always look up to each other. They care for one another. They love hanging out and playing together. They both loves Beyblade. Sayaka made

cookies for her sister. Sayaka really cares about her little brother. Sayaka show him how to beyblade and how fun Beyblade is. Sayaka loves her brother very much. She always support him all the way. When they were little, Tsuki crying because he hurt her leg and Sayaka is here to cheer her up to make her feel better. Sayaka is very caring towards her younger sister. Sayaka doesn't wants anyone to hurt her. She'll protect her no matter what. She get angry when her sister is being pick on by those bullies she always step up and defend her sister from them. She doesn't like mean people who don't respect other. She loves her sister so much and good friend to her. Tsuki always call her "big sister".

Takeru Ishikawa

Sayaka and Takeru have a standoff relationship. His caring of Sayaka and her sister is a bit more standoffish, but that doesn't mean he won't hesitate to come to their aid and protect them if needed.

Koharu Akiyama

Sayaka and Koharu have been best friends for a long time since childhood. They went to the same elementary school and middle school together. Now today, they're still best friends. They have a great friendship. Koharu is the first friend she made before she met Tsubasa and the others. They both love Beyblading. Sayaka is being protected by her because the guys go all lovey-dovey all over her. Sayaka has fanboys. Koharu has always looked up to her. Sayaka loves her best friend.

Yumi Hirano

Sayaka and Yumi have always been good friends since they were little. They have a good relationship. Sayaka, Koharu and Yumi are good friends. Yumi is in a different school than Sayaka and Koharu. Yumi always supports Sayaka.

Loka Solarlin

Sayaka and Loka are rivals and one sided friends. Sayaka is always being friendly to her. Loka gets annoyed with her cheerful personality. Sayaka loves being her friend. Sayaka always so sweet to her. They're both powerful bladers. They're good rivals and good friends. Sayaka is very friendly towards her. Loka won't give up until she defeat Sayaka one day.

Gingka Hagane

Sayaka and Gingka has a good relationship. They are really good friends. After they tying in a beyblade battle. She never met in such a strong blader before and she admire him. She hopes that she'll be just as powerful as him.

Kyoya Tategami

Sayaka and Kyoya are one-sided. They don't talk to each other a lot but they do sometimes. Sayaka tries to be kind and be his friend, but Kyoya doesn't care about her. She was sad and told him that he doesn't have to be that way. It breaks her heart. She doesn't like his disrespectful way. Still, after beating him in a heated Bey battle, Kyoya does hold some respect for Sayaka.

Madoka Amano

Sayaka and Madoka are really good friends and they get along great. They both love Beyblade, even though Madoka doesn't have a Beyblade to battle. They still enjoy beyblading.

Kenta Yumiya

Sayaka and Kenta are good friends and they get along well. Kenta admires Sayaka's kindness. They're good to hang out with.

Hikaru Hasama

Sayaka and Hikaru are very good friends. They have a good friendship. Sayaka is always being friendly and kind to her.

Masamune Kadoya

Sayaka has a odd relationship toward him. He has a crush on her. Masamune wants to ask her out but Sayaka keep on telling him that she not interested in him. He got rejected. She told him that she already likes someone else and that is Tsubasa. Masamune feels jealous towards Tsubasa and says that he's lucky to have such a beautiful girl like Sayaka. Masamune and Tsubasa become rivals. Masamune says that he is not going to give up until he wins her heart. However, Sayaka is still being friendly and kind to him.

Biography

((Childhood))

Ishikawa Sayaka grew up in Osaka, Japan with her mother, father and younger sister, Tsuki. Despite making many friends growing up, she wasn’t particularly close with any of them except for her sister who she considered her best friend. Her at first were reluctant to allow her to blade as they found it too dangerous for their daughter and instead had her practice gymnastics.

When Sayaka turned 10 years old, her parents finally allowed her to blade and gave her her first bey, Shining Swan as her birthday gift. She was elated to start blading and immediately went around challenging the other children around her neighborhood. Though she still loved gymnastics, she found more satisfaction in blading and changed her goals from gymnast to Professional Blader.

By the age of 11, she had grown both in strength and confidence and her name started getting out all around the prefecture. She was soon invited to her first official WBBA tournament and placed 3rd. Despite not getting first place, her bey had evolved and developed a new special move, Hurricane Slash.

When Sayaka was older, her father, Tsuki, and herself decided to move back to Japan, with their mother in America still. She met her childhood friends Koharu and Yumi. They are happy to see her. Koharu and Yumi are going to watch her Beyblade

battles. During a practice session with her Beyblade at a nearby gym, she ended up running into her childhood friend, Tsubasa. Excited to see him again, she introduce them to Tsubasa that save her from the bullies. She was going to spend time with him, Koharu tell her to take care. They decided to catch up on the time she missed while she was away with him over lunch, and later met with Tsubasa’s friends.  When she met Kyoya for the first time, she’d never been around his type of person before. He came off as rude and disrespectful, commenting on her Beyblading skills and girlish demeanor, and saying she was worthless and weak. Gingka, a redheaded friend of Tsubasa’s, had to break them up when they began arguing. Besides Kyoya, who could care less, she became friends with the others, such as Madoka and Kenta. More powerful than when she was a child, Sayaka decided to take on Gingka Hagane and display her

newfound skills. Madoka, Tsubasa, and Kenta all came to watch the unfolding of the challenge she presented. It was a tough fight and both Beyblades took a reasonable amount of damage. Even with Sayaka’s Sea Swan's special move, she ended up tying with the powerful Blader. Gingka congratulates her, and remarks on how strong her Blader's Spirit is and how much stronger it could be if she kept believing in herself. They shake hands and she smiles, content with her victory, not in battle, but in herself and spirit which made her feel victorious.  She soon joined Battle Bladers, wanting to achieve her dreams of becoming the best. However, things took a turn for the worst when she faced off against Ryuga. She was thrilled with excitement, and nearly managed to defeat him by putting up an amazing fight while taking so many of Lightning L-Drago’s attacks, but Ryuga used his dark power, which nearly destroyed Sayaka's Bey. She sadly forfeited the battle, feeling saddened by the loss, but Madoka vowed to fix up her Bey and make it good as new again.

Before the World Championship, Sayaka spent time with Tsuki, Koharu, and Yumi recalling her past endeavours up to then. She was so happy to see them and expressed her feelings about Beyblading, while later introducing Tsuki to Tsubasa and the others. Sayaka then tells Gingka and the others that she, Koharu, and Yumi are going to be on Team Amazon, with Ringo as the team leader. Excited about the World Championship, they agreed that they all make it their objective to have fun!  Team Amazon managed to defeat Team Korea and Team Mexico, the next round leading to GanGan Galaxy and Sayaka was excited. Yumi battled against Masamune, and won. Koharu battled Tsubasa, and nearly won until Tsubasa's dark power took over and caused him to nearly destroy Koharu's Bey, which she ended up losing. Finally, Sayaka battled against Gingka, and managed to win against him.

After a break, Amazon got a second chance and battled against Team Starbreaker, which won against them and nearly outed their team from the tournament. Upon going against Damian, he traps her and Sea Swan inside Hades’ Gates, but they break out of the chains and Sayaka almost manages to pull out a spectacular victory against him with her strongest Special Move: Hydro Vortex Blaster. Both attacks collided, causing a massive explosion that covered the entire field in smoke. As the smoke slowly clears, it reveals Sea Swan has stopped spinning with a stadium sleepout, while Hades barely managed to keep spinning, keyword: barely.

During the Hades City incident, she, along with Tsuki, Koharu, and Yumi help Gingka and many others fight against members of the HD Academy alliance.

A year and a couple weeks later, after the defeat of Hades Inc and the destruction of the Spiral Core, a strange event occurred. A new Star Fragment similar to the one that created Storm Pegasus and Lightning L-Drago exploded and spread out twelve beams of light that fell on Earth, hitting and enchanting eleven destined Beyblades. These Beys would prove to help in a time of darkness, as the legend of the star foretells.

Sayaka journeys with Gingka and the others to find the Legendary Bladers to help defeat Nemesis, as well as becoming one herself, which represents Earth. It was the danger of the battle against Rago that made her realise her obvious crush on Tsubasa. As the time came for Gingka and his group to depart, Sayaka was unsure on how to confess her feelings to Tsubasa. While walking through the forest of a nearby park they'd met, aimlessly wandering deep in thought, she accidentally trips on a root and nearly tumbles into the river, only to be caught by Tsubasa. He comments on her clumsiness and how she should not make it a habit. Nervously laughing, she tells him that she hopes that he could be by her side to help her when she can’t help herself, and confesses her affection for him.

WBBA, Sayaka was married to Tsubasa after a long while of knowing and working alongside each other. She still does Beyblading, but now alongside her little sister, trains newcomers to the sport. She soon became a mother and now has two adorable children: Tsubaki and Sayako Otori.

Trivia 

Sayaka's name means “brilliant and clear”.

Her birthday is on November 5.

Her favorite color is White. 

Sayaka is very physically strong to be female, even stronger than many males even if she does not look like it. She also never show or use her strength on other's except if it's in self-defense because she does not believe in humiliating other's. It was shown when Ryuga asked her to use her physical strength to beat up Kenta and Yu because he found them annoying, but she refused to do so.
